The Head of State welcomed the Grand Imam and noted that the participation of high-ranking guests in the VI Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions is central to Kazakhstan.
- We have a long-standing relationship with Al-Azhar University; we are familiar with the activities of its scientists. I am confident that your participation in the Congress will be a major contribution to our common cause, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
In turn, Sheikh Ahmad at-Tayeb thanked the President of Kazakhstan for the invitation to take part in the forum.
- Since my first visit to Kazakhstan, your capital Astana has been much transformed. Many beautiful buildings have appeared here, the religious leader said.
During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues and prospects for the development of interfaith dialogue.
