Speaking to the deputies, the Head of State proposed the candidacy of Dariga Nazarbayeva to be elected as the Senate’s Chairwoman.
- You all know her well. She has been working with you for a long time. She has extensive experience in social and political activities. She is a well-known politician not only in Kazakhstan, but also beyond. The ambitious tasks set by the First President - Elbasy to improve the well-being of Kazakhstan’s nation and to strengthen the social support of the population require high-quality legislative support. Therefore, today we assign such a responsible mission to Dariga Nazarbayeva. In this regard, I ask deputies of the Senate of Parliament to support the candidacy proposed by me, the President of Kazakhstan said.
According to the secret ballot, Dariga Nazarbayeva was elected to the position of the Chairperson of the Senate of Parliament.
In turn, the newly elected Chairwoman of the Upper House of Parliament thanked the Head of State and the deputies for their high confidence and stressed that she would put all her knowledge and strength in order to achieve the goals.
In conclusion, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev thanked the deputies present for supporting his proposal and wished Dariga Nazarbayeva success in her future work.
