In the course of the meeting the current state of relations between Kazakhstan and Japan and the prospects for their further progressive advance have been discussed.
Nursultan Nazarbayev underscored the close cooperation between the two countries in various fields, highlighting the regular participation of the Japanese side in the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions held in Astana, as well as a close partnership in the field of international security, including nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation.
The President of Kazakhstan noted the inestimable contribution of Japan to resolving global conflicts, and facilitating sustainable regional development. As Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed, our country performing responsible mission of the UN Security Council non-permanent member in 2017-2018, respectively, will also take measures aimed at building a nuclear-free world and solving the issues of energy, food and water security.
