At the meeting, cooperation in developing the financial sector, IT industry, and enhancing digital competence of small and medium-sized businesses was discussed.
The President endorsed Mastercard's decision to choose Almaty as a regional center in the CIS, Central and Eastern Europe, to develop its consulting business. Here, one of the world leaders in innovative payment technologies plans to develop business and human capital in the banking sector for the entire Central Asian region.
Nicola Villa shared the company's goals of promoting Kazakhstan's GovTech solutions abroad, especially in developing and emerging markets. According to the Mastercard representative, other countries where the company operates are actively interested in Kazakhstan's experience in digitalization, the development of e-government and cashless economy.
The President was also informed that Mastercard's Inclusive Growth Fund is launching the Strive programme in Kazakhstan to digitize businesses and help more than 300,000 SMEs improve their competencies.
Furthermore, expert and technological assistance is being provided in collaboration with the National Bank of Kazakhstan to implement the "Digital Tenge", "Instant Payment System", and Open Banking projects.
These and other initiatives were reflected in the Digital Country Partnership (DCP) Framework Agreement signed between the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan and Mastercard during the President's working visit to New York.
