The President visited the Museum of Military History

Hanoi, Vietnam

A visit to the Museum of Military History concluded the first day of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The Head of state was told the history of the creation of the museum complex, and was shown a short documentary film entitled "The Battle of Dien Bien Phu". The President of Kazakhstan then toured the exhibition halls.

The Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, which houses the Military Museum, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The exposition of the Military Museum, located in thirty viewing halls, consists of about 160 thousand items and documents related to the history of the formation and development of the Vietnamese Armed Forces.

The museum presents combat vehicles and weapons that were directly involved in the military battles for the country's independence.
