Welcoming the Italian delegation, President Tokayev emphasized that today's meeting provides an excellent opportunity to discuss key areas of mutual interest in bilateral relations.
“Until now, I cherish fond memories about my visit to Italy. I would say that the visit came out to be extremely successful due to your hospitality and willingness to provide all conditions for successful negotiations. We enjoy very close cooperation between both states in so many areas. A great number of Italian companies operate on our market. Our trade is booming. Humanitarian exchanges are successfully developing. So, I believe that the current state of our mutual relationship is very successful,” President Tokayev stated.
In response, President Mattarella expressed his sincere gratitude for the meeting, which, in his view, reflects the genuine friendship between Kazakhstan and Italy.
The Italian President praised the strong bilateral ties between the two nations and highlighted the numerous opportunities for expanding strategic partnership.
“We truly have excellent relations in all areas – political, economic, trade, and cultural, ” the Italian President noted.
The two leaders discussed prospects for further trade, economic, and investment cooperation.
President Tokayev underscored that Italy is Kazakhstan’s third-largest global trading partner and ranks among the top five foreign investors in the Kazakh economy. Over the past year, bilateral trade has grown significantly, reaching $20 billion, while approximately 250 Italian companies are successfully operating in Kazakhstan – particularly in the oil and gas, renewable energy, mechanical engineering, and agriculture sectors.
Additionally, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Sergio Mattarella exchanged views on key global issues.
