The Head of the State congratulated António Guterres on his appointment as the UN Secretary General.
The parties expressed confidence in fruitful cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Organization in the framework of the non-permanent membership of our country in the UN Security Council.
The President of Kazakhstan noted that António Guterres was going to work in extremely difficult geopolitical conditions prevailing in the world at present.
- You can count on Kazakhstan’s support in your involved activity as the Secretary-General, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
The Head of the State stressed that our country had developed trusting and constructive relations with the UN.
In turn, António Guterres thanked Nursultan Nazarbayev for warm attitude towards his work as the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and expressed hope for further effective cooperation.
The Kazakh leader invited António Guterres to visit Kazakhstan.
