President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev receives Health Minister Yelzhan Birtanov

The Head of State was briefed on the measures taken to improve the health of citizens, improve the quality and availability of medical care in Kazakhstan.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that sufficient funds are allocated to the health care system of Kazakhstan, which should be used for improving its efficiency, mobilizing domestic resources and increasing the salaries of healthcare professionals.

According to the instructions of Elbasy and the President, from June 1, 2019, the wages of low-paid medical personnel will increase by 30%.

Yelzhan Birtanov reported to the Head of State on the activities aimed at improving the quality of primary health care, reducing medical workload, expanding screening coverage, digitalizing medical services and implementing the project to create a National Scientific Oncology Centre in Nur-Sultan.

In conclusion, the President instructed to take further measures to develop national health care, taking into account international best practices.
