Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Mars Chief Executive Officer Poul Weihrauch.
The President welcomed the signing of an investment agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan and Mars valued at approximately $180 million.
He emphasized that the agreement marks the beginning of a strategically important partnership and reflects the high level of Kazakh-American cooperation.
Under the project, Mars will build a pet food production facility in the city of Alatau. The plant will enable deep processing of agricultural raw materials and the production of high value-added products.
Poul Weihrauch thanked the President for his support in implementing the mutually beneficial investment agreement. According to the CEO, the initiative will provide Mars with a strong platform to expand its production capacity and market presence in Central Asia and neighboring regions.
